Nikka Days

Mellow, Sweet Fruity
"Coffey grain whisky and aromatic unpeated Miyagiko malts, as well as a hint of coffee malt whiskey and Yoichi malts" come together in this new blend. Packaged in deliberately light-coloured packaging, this blend is perfect for the summer months - or to brighten up dark winter days.

The fragrance of the blend from Japan can be described as "light, bright and fresh". Honey and white tea are the dominant flavours and are supported by a light tangy lemon and vanilla notes. An unripe pear is present here and there. Overall, the grain component in the top note is very noticeable.

When tasting Nikka Day, we can't help but think of mate tea. Sweet, mild and sugary with a hint of smoke, the Japanese whisky exudes intensely fresh and floral notes, while roasted almonds also play a part. The young grain whisky is also clearly noticeable here.

Short to medium-long and tangy-crisp with a little dull oak - this is how the blend says goodbye.

Overall, it is clear from the Nikka Days that a high proportion of (inexpensive) young grain whisky has been used here. The blend from Japan is fine for "just drinking", but if you are looking for something more exciting, there are also interesting alternatives in this price range. By the way: interestingly, the blend is perfect for pairing with cream quark and strawberries.
